Last night, the kids and I read a new book… You’re Here For a Reason by Nancy Tillman. Immediately, the lyrics captured my attention. It reminded me of just how unique and influential we really are as individuals. It emphasizes the fact that no human life is a mistake. So even though it’s a children’s book, it really impacted this adult’s heart. Let me just get personal for a moment here. Although I am grateful I was adopted, I still faced a wide range of emotions due to the overall backstory. It wasn’t always easy and to be honest, sometimes I still have to work through some difficult feelings and unanswered questions. But nevertheless, I love knowing God Himself had a plan for me before I was even born. Therefore, I appreciate how this simple book shines light on that in it’s own special way.

After I finished reading it, I prayed over all of our “babies” – that they may always know and believe they are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that no matter what they may face in life, they would see it as an opportunity to learn and grow.

So to whoever is reading this, lift your head and smile today… remembering that you too have a sacred place in this chaotic world. And as long as you have breath in your lungs, you have the opportunity to make it a better place for someone else. When we are fully open to God using us in the lives of others in order for Him to be glorified, it will cause a domino effect beyond our wildest dreams.

You were born for this, darlings.

Now get out there and make a difference : )

The bible is rich in powerful wisdom, beautiful analogies and inspiring stories that help us to better understand God’s character and successfully grow in the midst of life’s ups and downs. There are so many scriptures that tie into what I shared today, but I will leave you with this one for now.
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5
I encourage you to mediate on them throughout your week. Study the context. In addition, pray for God to show you exactly how you can apply them to your life now. Nothing is too small for Him to use; you just never know what He’s up to! And as always, I am on this journey with you so let’s do this!
